Large Bowl with Three Fishes Decor in Underglaze Red Ch'eng-hua period (A.D. 1465-1487) Ming Dynasty Diameter of mouth 21cm This bowl has a flared mouth, deep cavetto, a slightly concave base, and a low ring foot. The three fish on the exterior are rather abstract. Around the base are incised lotus petal motifs, and the base is inscribed with the six- character mark "Made in the Ch'eng-hua reign of the great Ming dynasty" in blue- and-white.
